So I’ve been trying to quit this little addiction many of us have these days, the lovely sweet sweet sugar sugar. It hides in everything, from cereals to salad dressings. So we went cold turkey for 3 days trying to strangle those cravings by saying no to everything sweet, from bananas to honey to plain old sugar. Well that was a bit bananas to be honest, and I can’t imagine it being good for you (what about all the vitamins in strawberries??). So here’s to round 2 of doing this properly (i.e. including fruit)! I’ve been collecting sugar-free recipes for a while but being aย bit tired of the sickly tasting dates and banana snacks you can getย (waaaay to sweet!), I created my very own raw brownie recipe. Here goes:
3-4 tbsp pure cocoa powder (sugar free of course. I used Green & Black’s)
2 tbsp pure cashew butter
1 tpsp vegetable oil (I had a vanilla flavoured olive oil at home, perfect!)
some vanilla powder
a few lashings of agave, depending on how sweet you like it
4 roughly chopped walnuts
Just mix it all up, press it into a small tupperware, place in fridge for an hour or so until cold. Voila! Makes about 4 little slabs.
